1. About whatsdhype
whatsdhype ("whatsdhype", "we", "us") is a place to keep track of the music you love. You rate and review songs, albums, and artists, save the ones that stay with you, make picks, and follow people whose taste you trust — and those ratings and reviews come together into charts shaped by real listeners. whatsdhype is free to use. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and whatsdhype.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use whatsdhype, and old enough to form a binding contract in your country. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use whatsdhype only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you use whatsdhype on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email using a one-time code, and may optionally set a password. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and account secure, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at info@whatsdhype.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
4. How the service works
whatsdhype lets you preview songs, rate and review them, save favorites, build and share picks, follow other listeners, and browse charts ranked from listener ratings. Previews are short clips and full tracks open on Apple Music; whatsdhype does not host, sell, or stream the underlying recordings. Song, album, and artist information and 30-second previews are provided courtesy of Apple Music. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the reviews, ratings, picks, captions, and other content you create on whatsdhype ("your content"). By posting it, you grant whatsdhype a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content in order to operate, promote, and improve the service — for example, showing your review on a song page, a chart, or a shareable card. This license ends when you delete your content or account, except for copies retained in backups for a limited time or where we must keep them to comply with law.
You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or the rights of others. We do not endorse any user content, and opinions expressed in reviews are those of their authors.
6. Community guidelines and acceptable use
whatsdhype only works if it stays honest and welcoming. You agree not to:
- Use bots, scripts, or any automated means to inflate previews, ratings, reviews, follows, or to manipulate discovery or the charts.
- Create multiple or fake accounts, or coordinate to skew ratings or reviews.
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, deceptive, spam, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
- Resell, rent, or commercialize access to whatsdhype without our permission.
7. Adding your own music
If you are an artist, you can add your music to whatsdhype for free so listeners can find, rate, and review it. By doing so, you represent that you own or control the rights needed, including any rights of featured artists, producers, and other rights-holders. You grant whatsdhype a license to display the related metadata and artwork within the service for as long as the content is active.
8. Moderation and copyright
We may review, remove, or restrict content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that violate these Terms or harm the service or its users. If you believe content on whatsdhype infringes your copyright, contact us at info@whatsdhype.com with enough detail to identify the work and the material, and we will respond appropriately, including removing infringing content and acting against repeat infringers.
9. Third-party services
whatsdhype relies on third parties, including Apple Music (for catalog information, artwork, and 30-second previews, and as the destination for full-track listening), and providers for email delivery, hosting, databases, analytics, and error monitoring. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
10. Intellectual property
The whatsdhype name, brand, interface, and software are owned by whatsdhype and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks without prior written permission. Music, artwork, and metadata belong to their respective rights-holders.
11. Termination and deletion
You may delete your account at any time from your settings; deletion removes your personal information and signs you out everywhere. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service and its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses you have granted, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
12. Disclaimers
whatsdhype is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular content will always be available.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, whatsdhype will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Because whatsdhype is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed a nominal sum permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold whatsdhype harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of whatsdhype after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be subject to the courts located in Nigeria, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
