A solid Album

Victony has delivered yet another masterpiece and one thing is clear — he’s a bloody genius. You can hear how deliberate he was in putting this album together in every lyric, every note and every beat. This is “Swaggalomo” music, reminiscent of SS3 days when boys sagged and girls crushed on them for the littlest things. It’s culturally familiar and therefore difficult not to connect with. The clarity of his vision is on steroids, such that each song sounds closely related but individually unique to make up a coherent but sonically pleasing and distinct enough album. If the album was a football team, it would be PSG 2025/26. It reminds me of the same sonical clarity and artistic bullishness that came with Rema’s “HEIS”. The album flew dangerously close to the sun in terms of how similar sounding some of the songs are, but I think Vic hit the right spot. I think that the features are bang on. I would highlight the usual suspects but I think YKB and Baby Boy AV deserve special shoutouts for really owning their parts of “STARLIFE” and “PINO”, complementing Victony excellently. This album is VERY different from “Stubborn”, but it goes just as hard, and “Fresh” and “Slick” were super solid lead singles to introduce us to this album. As Victony continues to experiment and/or evolve, we appear to be guaranteed good music in all shapes and forms.
